In looking closer at our best home theater speaker systems, I thought we would look at each of the systems we have reviewed and see what the big review sites had to say about each.

Experts say the 5.1-channel Klipsch HD Theater 500 is a terrific sounding speaker — particularly with movies — with the ability to create a more accurate surround-sound field than many of its competitors. I agree with this take on the system. Klipsch has always been a high priced high quality producer, and its great to see them start to enter the relm of the more affordable. This system is produced for theater, and most true audiophiles agree. it lacks slightly when listening to certain types of music, though the average listener would be very hard pressed to notice. Overall for a small to mid-sized venue this system is hard to beat. Elegant and compact these speakers pack a punch!
What is the best home theater speaker system?
So what constitutes the best home theater speaker system? The answer to that is of course is different for everyone. I was flipping through a Home cinema magazine at the bookstore not to long ago, and found an ad that had a famous baseball player standing between two speakers as tall as he was. At his feet was a center speaker three or four feet across. Now I guess if your a pro athlete, and you have a dedicated movie room with a 200 inch screen then yeah, 30 grand in audio equipment seems reasonable. However most of us just want great movie type sound when we watch our TV. So for each of us the equation is different. It’s a balance of what you need, as far as watts to fill your space. proximity to the viewing area, and of course budget. You can get a great little speaker package for just over a 100 bucks. If you can spend a little more, even better. Consider that your theater environment may change. If you can afford a slightly better speaker system now It may last you a lot longer should you get a larger TV, move, or change your viewing area to a larger room where you need a stronger system. Whatever you need there is something out there for everyone at just about any budget, and if your watching your shiny new TV, but listening only through the speakers in it, your really missing the theater experience you could be having every time you turn it on. So see what’s out there. Find something that meets your needs. Plug it in, and turn it on. You’ll be very happy you did.
